i think it’s very interesting that all three groups have been so different. Their show was very simple and delicate i was very carefully of where i walked to i wouldn’t spoil anything which i think is quite cool because i focused more on how i move around the space because of the way its been set up rather than focusing on the  work.

– my evaluation –

I believe we were successful with our exhibition because we understood the gallery system of curation and promoted our exhibition very well. We made sure we were discreet about the show and didn’t give out extra information so it would be a surprise for everyone because we knew the show wouldn’t be what they would be expecting. An example of understand and thinking of a mind of curating was placing the art in the space and making sure it worked well in the space and the art that it was placed next to which was a challenge because we had a few sculptures that took up a lot of space and we didn’t want to overcrowd one corner- we had to have a flowing feeling throughout having it balanced. This was solved through team work, a little help from Fran and moving around the art to try them out in different spaces.

On the day of our exhibition, I was the photographer this including taking pictures during our private show and I helped take down our exhibition. I didn’t really enjoy working in these groups personally, I think it was because group wise I don’t think that we worked well together because there were quit a few individual groups however the positive note was that I got to work with a group of people I didn’t know and learnt some new things from them. This showed in our exhibition because all the art pieces correlated well with one another even though we had an issue with one of the artists and the disagreement lead to us having to remove her piece during our private view which was a little annoyed but ended up being fine.

Everyone might have not seen eye to eye but we came together to do what we had to do and performed quite well. The show went well even though the set up was a little messy. We planned six hours to set up and it took us about two hours to get all the pieces in the space and paint the wall, after having everything set in place, it didn’t really work well together do an hour before hour private view we had to move more or less everything around and it caused a bit of a havoc but we finished just in time and the show started at 6pm.

I think I’ve documented well on my blog because I’ve been continuously updating it regularly from the beginning so you’ll be able to see our work process. This project has taught me to view things from different angle as I have never viewed an exhibition from the view of a curator and now it is as if it’s a must to view it from their perspective. I think I managed my time well however, if I was to have more time I would want to have more meetings with my group before our show and get everyone involved because not everyone participated in our group from the start nevertheless, I think success overruled the unsuccessful only thing I would have probably changed would be the ultimate we faced during our private viewing.
